I hope that you’ve enjoyed your summer vacation and are beginning to gear up for another school year. But before the new school year begins, I want each of you to think about the following Emerson Quote: “Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail”. Think about how the quote applies to you. How does it apply to the way you live your life? And, how does it apply to our school? Now, I want you to envision a school where students and staff look at each day as a new adventure—a school where new challenges are embraced. You may be thinking, “That school doesn’t exist,” and to that statement I would say, “Maybe not yet.”
If we want to see our school transformed, we must first be willing to change, do things we’ve never done before, step outside our comfort zone, and push ourselves harder than ever before. HHS accomplished some amazing things last year, but the best is yet to come. Let us not forget that many times the most rewarding path is the one less traveled—it’s the “trail” that’s not clearly marked and more than likely contains many obstacles. I want to challenge each of you this year “to go where there is no path and leave a trail.” Are you ready to be a part of something extraordinary? I’m ready!! Are you?
