Hargrave Bass Fishing Team

Hargrave High School's Fishing Team is part of one of the fastest growing youth related movements across the country! We have doubled in size from last year to eight teams, consisting of competitive student anglers who exhibit diligence, integrity and honesty at all times. We are excited to be one of the top schools competing in the Texas High School Bass Association; as our own Tait Babin and Matthew Dorcz put us on the map last spring by placing 5th at State on Toledo Bend Lake. Our recognition continues to grow this year with Garrett Stevens and Ruston Breaux kicking off the 2016-2017 season at Lake Livingston landing in 2nd place out of 129 teams. We are so proud of these kids and can't wait to see what the future holds!

Special thanks to our wonderfully supportive 2016-2017 sponsors!

Livingston Tournament - Oct 1, 2016

The Hargrave High School Fishing Team spent 8 hours competing on a beautiful Saturday on Lake Livingston this past weekend.  We kicked off this first tournament of the Texas High School Bass Association’s season in full gear placing 2nd out of 25 schools and 129 boats.  Team “Keepin’ it Reel,” Garrett Stevens and Ruston Breaux,  caught their limit of 5 fish weighing in at 14.22 lbs., coming in 2nd place out of those 129 individual teams!  “4 Bass Limit,” Matthew Dorcz and Tait Babin, caught 7.01 lbs., coming in 18th place; “Hawg Wild,” Dalton Mensik and Jagger Vaughn were able to catch a 4.62 pounder, which almost got them Big Bass; “Hawg Hunterz,” Josh Edwards and Colby Leps, were able to hang on to the top 50% with their fish; and “Bass Bros,” Seth Linthicum and Ryland Breaux, contributed to the team and have quite a story to tell.  We had a total of 5 teams participate, 4 of those teams placed in the top 50% and all contributed to our 2nd place status.  This is a huge accomplishment for us and we are so proud of them!  ~ Monica Dorcz
